Being healthy means more than just deciding to eat "good food" and avoid "bad food". It involves understanding why we make the choices we do, and educating ourselves to choose foods that are best for us. Any food can be good or bad for us depending on how we use it.
Integrative nutrition looks at different aspects of your everyday situation- food, work, relationships, and activity level, to create a more harmonious and balanced lifestyle. When we are feeling good about all the components in our lives, healthy eating falls easily into place.
Ayurvedic Medicine is an ancient healing science that originates in India. Looking at your body type, personality, and medical history, we can determine your constitution, or "dosha. This tells us what you look like when perfectly balanced and where you may have gone out of balance. Each person has a unique doshic combination, so every treatment is highly individualized.
Through the lens of Ayurveda my clients can objectively look at themselves, and learn about who they are. This helps them gently introduce foods and practices that will serve them through their lifetime. My intention with every person is to encourage them to learn their own patterns so they can maintain a balance of health and energy. Most importantly, by knowing yourself, you can really learn to love yourself! Ayur means life and Veda means knowledge. So the practice of Ayurveda is the knowledge of life that can lead one to a long and vibrant existence.
